Elisabeth Lawrence a Cricket Art Prize finalist

Elisabeth Lawrence is a selected finalist in the international Cricket Art Prize 2010 in Sydney which opens on 7 October and will be touring Australia for 5 months. She has also been chosen to be one of the artists in this year’s 15 Artist Exhibition (Redcliffe) opening on 25 October.
Elisabeth has an upcoming solo exhibition - brisurbia - showing at
Percolator Gallery from 2 to 15 November.

New Nick Cominos paintings at Doggett Street Studio

Nick Cominos's latest exhibition - Afterimage - opens at Doggett St Studio (85 Doggett St, Newstead, Qld) opens Friday 8 October (6pm). The pictures are about perception, the visual relationship between light and memory.

Laurel McKenzie shows Divas and Devatas

Laurel McKenzie will exhibit - Divas and Devatas - at Stephen McLaughlan
Gallery
(Level 8, Room 16, Nicholas Building, 37 Swanston Street,
Melbourne) from 13 to 30 October. The mixed media works juxtapose ancient
Khmer deities, rescued from obscurity, with too-familiar present-day
celebrities. The latter are amalgamated into single, all-purpose
celebrities, while the ancient females are, by contrast, recognized for the
particularity of their portraiture.

Sussanne Morton Ehlers captures flowers' beauty

Sussanne Morton Ehlers moved to Melbourne from Queensland last spring, inspired by the beauty of the flowers that thrive and flourish in the colder climates. She set up a temporary studio in Olinda, near the National Rhododendron Gardens
in Victoria’s Dandenong mountains, and throughout spring and summer,
set about capturing inspiration for her new series of Flower portraits in oils.

New Kym Barrett work at PS Gallery

Kym Barrett is showingher recent work - The Memory of Trees - at PS Gallery (150 Enoggera Terrace,Paddington, Qld. Ph: 07 3368 1488). The solo exhibition opens on Friday 29October (6pm) and runs to 13 November.

Di West part of Blake Prize's Director's Cut Exhibition

Di West is extremely honoured to have
her artwork - Together Alone - selected for the Director's Cut Exhibition in the Blake Prize 2010. This is an online exhibition by The Blake Society and all works are for sale. The exhibition runs is now on until 15 January 2011.

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox a Redland's finalist

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Foxis a finalist in the Redland Art Award to beannounced on 6 November.

Kathryn also has five paintingsselected for the curated exhibition - B Aware - themed on the Millennium
Goals which opens on Friday 8 October (6.30 pm) at St. John's Cathedral
(373 Ann St, Brisbane, Qld) and runs to 21 October.

Nicola Moss at Fellia Melas Gallery

Recent paintings and paper cut works by Nicola Moss will be
part of the opening exhibition at the beautifully renovated Fellia Melas Galleryin Woollahra.( 2 Moncur St. Ph: 02 9363 5616).

Mel Brigg Emotive Moods at Red Hill Gallery

Mel Brigg is holding
another major solo exhibition - Emotive Moods - this time at Red Hill Gallery (61 Musgrave
Road, Red Hill, Qld. Ph: 07 3368 1442) which runs from 8 to 31 October.

The staff at Gallery One on the Gold Coast have also had
their first Mel Brigg sales success story selling his paintings nearly as
soon as his paintings were delivered to the gallery.

B Aware

The EightGoalsGroup is staging an exhibition
called B Aware at St John’s Cathedral Brisbane from
8-21 October 2010.

8GG was set up to raise awareness of the
issues of poverty and injustice. The exhibition includes work by Ross
Booker
, Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox, Cernak, Susan
Goddard
, Jude Roberts and many
others.
